Accident on Project pure site
A workman has been injured at one of the Wanaka Project Pure worksites, this morning Queenstown Lakes District Council engineering general manager Mark Kunath said.
“A truck driver was injured while unloading pipes at one of the work sites located at the Wanaka Airport,” Mr Kunath said.
The man had been airlifted to Dunedin Hospital with a serious leg injury.
The council would conduct an investigation into the accident and co-operate fully with any independent investigations that may arise from the incident.
The Department of Labour had been notified.
“Our thoughts are very much with the injured man at this time,” Mr Kunath said.
