Major work to resurface Robins Road will mean 10-15 minute delays on Monday (March 17).

“We ask that parents, residents and business owners bear with us as the last of the major work is undertaken,” Queenstown Lakes District Council engineering services general manager Mark Kunath said.

“We recommend encouraging students to walk or bike to school or car pooling would also help to reduce congestion on this day,” he said.

Council also recommended the following drop off and pick up points for school students:

High school and language school students – Gorge Road
Primary school students – Fire Station end of Robins Road.

The major part of this project is due to be finished by the end of Monday, weather permitting. Minor works such as road markings and drainage would follow having very little effect on traffic flows along Robins Road.

Mr Kunath said the council was extremely grateful for the patience shown by the community during the disruptions caused by this project.
