Taupo District Council wants to remind the community to give feedback on the challenges they think the District faces which may potentially affect quality of life over the next ten years.

The Council has been seeking feedback for the past five weeks on whether the challenges it has identified are inline with those the community believe to be important. Some of the issues identified by Council include air and water quality, feeling safe, cost of living, and economic diversity. The results will be used when the Council updates its long-term plan for the District later this year.

To make it easy for the public to provide their ideas, the Council prepared a ‘Challenges Paper’ and feedback form which can be obtained by visiting www.taupodc.govt.nz, by phoning Council on 376 0899, or by calling into any of the TDC offices.

Mayor Rick Cooper says that while quality of life in the Taupo District is high, the Council and community need to continue striving to make it even better. “We want to help make the District a place for our children to treasure,” says Mayor Cooper. “With a collaborative approach, we will maximise our chances of making Taupo the best it can be.”

The community are asked to provide their feedback by Monday 21 April so Council staff can begin collating the responses.
