Cathy Kenkel appointed Group Manager Strategic at Franklin District Council

Franklin District Council, CEO, Sally Davis announced today that she has made the first Group Manager appointment as part of the organisation’s restructure.

Sally said “I am delighted to announce that Cathy Kenkel has accepted the new position of Group Manager Strategic and will be joining us on June 9. Cathy has particular strengths in strategic leadership, a collaborative working style and the relevant Local Government experience to ensure that she will very quickly become a major contributor to Franklin District.”

When her appointment was confirmed Cathy commented, “My passion is creating urban and rural environments that will be sustainable in the face of climate change and economic uncertainty. To continue this work in Franklin District is a wonderful opportunity and I can’t wait to get started.”

Cathy Kenkel is currently a Public Sector Auditor specialising in sustainability with the Office of the Auditor General based in Wellington. Prior to this she was Group Manager Strategic Planning and Policy with Waitakere City Council. Cathy is currently completing a Masters degree in Public Policy at Victoria University and has post-graduate qualifications in several relevant disciplines.
