Alternative routes in place as resurfacing continues on Northern Motorway (SH1)

Transit New Zealand reminds motorists travelling to Auckland City on the Northern Motorway (SH1) this morning to use alternative routes SH17 and East Coast Road as resurfacing continues between Oteha Valley Road and Silverdale.

One lane southbound is closed for resurfacing and traffic is travelling at 50km/h past the work.

ATTOMS traffic operations manager Mark Walker says, "Traffic is flowing past the closure and on the alternative routes. Motorists can take SH17 and East Coast Road to avoid delays this morning and throughout the weekend."

SH17 (from Albany Village)

From Orewa take the SH1 Silverdale off-ramp and turn right onto Hibiscus Coast Highway to the roundabout with SH17.
East Coast Road

' From Orewa take the SH1 Silverdale off-ramp and turn left onto Hibiscus Coast Highway and right at the first set of traffic lights onto East Coast Road.
Motorists should look out for electronic message signs and listen to radio bulletins for updates.
