Franklin Economy Shines in BERL Report

Franklin District made the top 10 in the best performing Districts/Cities in New Zealand in the 2007 BERL (Business and Economic Research Limited) report. Franklin was the only Auckland Region Territorial Authority to make it into the top ten. It also jumps forward 19 spots from its 2006 position.

BERL undertakes the research each year to find the best performing local economies. Franklin ranked fifth equal with Hamilton City. It ranked well in business units, population and employment growth.

“It’s great to read this result and see that the District is moving in the right direction,” says Franklin District Council Mayor, Mark Ball.
