On Monday 28 May 2007 the Chamber of Commerce Southland will be hosting the Lion Foundation Young Enterprise Scheme "Oral Business Plan Presentations and Mid Year Awards" Evening.



This year six secondary school companies are taking part in the 2007 programme.
Each company has worked really hard to develop a business plan and marketing strategy for promoting their unique products.



XZONIS (Aurora College) have developed a "What's on" informational/interactive website for young people.



ILLUMINATE (James Hargest High) has developed a unique candle holder that reflects a motif.



SMART WAYS (Southland Boys High) is manufacturing a rollup windshield screen that protects a car from both frosts and u.v. rays



SLEEVELESS (Southland Boys High) is manufacturing and marketing sleeveless hoodies, t-shirts and polo shirts.



STOP-POPZ (Southland Girls) are packaging and selling orange lollipops to raise funds for "Preventing Violence in the House".



SMARTY PANTS (Verdon College) are packaging and selling fashionable women's briefs as a means of raising awareness about cervical cancer with a percentage of the profit going to the Cancer Society.



Awards will be presented for

* Most Environmentally Friendly Product or Service

* Best Trade Stand

* Best Marketing Strategy

* Best Written Business Plan

* Best Oral Business Plan Presentation

* The Business Card Competition



The event is being held at the Stairs Function Centre at 6.30pm with Awards being presented at 8.45pm
