Business support wanted for FNDC investment website
Far North businesses are being asked to lend their support to a new “Buy Far North” website that is being developed alongside the Far North District Council’s existing “Live Work Invest” site. (www.farnorthnz.co.nz)
Registration on the new site is free to all local businesses with a web presence and is being offered by the council as part of its drive to promote the Far North as a great place to do business, as well as a great place to live, work and invest.
District Facilities manager Alastair Wells says the council will be intensifying its efforts to promote the Far North’s business opportunities in the coming financial year.
“The new website is a step in that direction,” he said. “The intention is to develop a categorised database of businesses within the Buy Far North site, which will be a key link from the popular Live Work Invest site and an important part of our broader Far North district promotions.”
Mr Wells said the Live Work Invest site had attracted 1,403 hits from 34 countries since going live at the end of last year.
Business wishing to take up the free registration offer are asked to visit www.buyfarnorthnz.com and enter their details so that the site can go live by the end of next month.
In a complementary initiative, the council is seeking to promote the district through its ambassadors, heroes, or success stories; not just in terms of business achievement but in all walks of life.
“An effective way to let people know about the great things happening in the Far North is to profile some of the people that are doing the great things,” Mr Wells said. “They are our best ambassadors and we want people to tell us who they think these people are.”
