Mapara Valley submission timeframe extended

Due to extensive public interest around proposed Plan Change 23 – Mapara Valley, Taupo District Council has made the decision to extend the timeframe for submissions.

Submissions to the Plan Change were originally due Friday 30 May however Council has granted a two week extension to allow the public an extra opportunity to provide feedback.

Submissions are now due Friday 13 June at 5pm.

Submissions need to be made in writing and delivered or posted to Taupo District Council, Private Bag 2005, Taupo Mail Centre, Taupo 3352, faxed to 07 378 0118 or emailed to epu@taupo.govt.nz

Copies of the proposed Plan Change, associated documentation and submission forms are available at Council Offices, District Libraries or online at www.taupo.govt.nz. For more information, submitters should contact Rowan Sapsford, Principal Planner Environmental Policy on (07) 376 0723.

Proposed Plan Change 23 – Mapara Valley Structure Plan Area, adds new provisions and zones into the Taupo District Plan and maps to enable the appropriate development of the Mapara Valley Structure Plan Area. These changes will mean that the area will change from being Rural Environment to a number of new zones which allow and guide a degree of urban development.

The proposed Plan Change includes new rules which will ensure that these areas are developed in a manner which takes into account the landform, infrastructure and water quality issues.
