New Zealand Secondary Schools netball team reclaim international title

The New Zealand Secondary School Netball Team (NZSS) defeated Aotearoa Maori Netball 52 - 42 in the final of the International School Girls competition last week in Adelaide.

After a loss to School Sport Australia in the final last year the NZ Secondary School team are thrilled to have the title back for New Zealand.

NZ Secondary Schools coach, Kiri Wills, believes it was the depth of the team that inevitably led the team to victory.

"This year we had a very strong squad with all positions covered and an incredibly strong bench," she said.

"Leading up to the finals we played School Sport Australia and I was able to get all 12 players out on court using a number of combinations – it was a total team performance, they are a talented group to work with."
