Federated Farmers of New Zealand welcomes Conor English to the position of chief executive officer.

Making the announcement today, president of Federated Farmers, Charlie Pedersen said Mr English has the ideal experience and skills to build on the solid foundation the outgoing CEO left.

“Mr English started his career as a sheep, cattle, crop and forestry farmer. He has a very good understanding of the role and goals of Federated Farmers and already has established relationships with many of our stakeholders. The agricultural sector has ongoing challenges and we look forward to making progress with Mr English’s contribution,” Mr Pedersen said.

Prior to this appointment Mr English was Commercial Director and second-in-charge of The Property Group, a consultancy with 80 staff. He is the former chief executive officer of the New Zealand Property Institute and has had roles in other lobby groups and in the Beehive.

Mr English says: "This is an exciting time. New Zealand grows grass to feed the world and there are plenty of challenges to ensure we continue to do that successfully. I am looking forward to helping build on the excellent work of the Federation."
