Council renews football club lease

The Taupo Association Football Club successfully had its lease of part of Crown Park renewed for 14 years at a Taupo District Council committee meeting today.

The club has held a lease over part of Crown Park since 1993 and works with the Council to provide good field facilities. Clubroom facilities located near the entrance to the park on Taharepa Road have recently been extended to provide improved facilities for both the club and outside users.

Chairman of the Council’s Taupo/Kaingaroa-Mangakino/Pouakani Committee, Councillor Kathryn Uvhagen, says the lease renewal means the club can continue to function and grow without any doubt about its ability to provide adequate facilities for its members.

“The new facilities look trememdous and I’m delighted that the club’s lease has been renewed,” says Cr Uvhagen.
