Ward clinic pilot continues in Lambton Ward

Lambton ward residents will have an opportunity to discuss any concerns or issues they have with Mayor Kerry Prendergast and their ward Councillors this coming Saturday.

The Lambton ward clinic will be held in the meeting room on the mezzanine floor of the Central Library in Victoria Street between 9.30am and 11.30am.

There is no need to make an appointment, and Lambton ward residents are encouraged to stop in if they have any community or individual issues they want to discuss with Mayor Prendergast and Councillors McKinnon, Pannett and Cook.

"This is the third ward clinic we have held this year as part of a one year pilot and they have been incredibly successful," says Mayor Prendergast.

"The first two were extremely well-attended and they are proving a great forum for residents to meet with me in person about any issues they have. It is often intimidating to ask questions in a Council or community meeting or in a formal setting. The clinic format allows people to say their piece in a more casual setting, one-on-one."

The Mayor will hold two further clinics later this year – in the Onslow ward on Saturday 30 August in the St Johns Hall, Karori and in the Northern ward on Saturday 18 October in the Johnsonville Community Hall. Both clinics will run from 9.30am to 11.30am.

"We expect a good turnout for the Lambton ward clinic and I hope to be able to continue these types of clinics next year." says Mayor Prendergast. "We've not only had some very constructive feedback, but have been able to resolve problems and progress issues. If we can provide information on the spot, we will do so. If not, we will bring the issue back to the Council and make sure a response is received as soon as possible."
