Franklin Website in Top Rankings
A recent survey has proven what Franklin District Council and almost 10,000 visitors a month already know – Franklin District Council’s website is a great resource!
Franklin District Council’s website – www.franklin.govt.nz was evaluated as part of the Association of Local Government Information Management’s (ALGIM) major survey and evaluation of Council websites throughout New Zealand. The survey assessed sites from both a technical and content perspective. Franklin District Council’s website was ranked 10th out of the 85 Council websites – a stunning result and even more reason for residents to use Council’s website.
Council’s website was scrutinised for its provision of basic features, general Council information, specific Council-related services information and what activities could be done online.
The results were announced as Franklin District Council’s six-monthly data indicated that from January to June 2008 website visitor numbers had risen almost 50%.
“At the end of 2006 Council launched a new website and we are really starting to see the benefits of all that hard work. To be ranked so high, ahead of councils with much bigger populations and resources, is a great achievement,” says Franklin District Council Mayor, Mark Ball.
