Otara voters urged to have their say

Electors of the Otara ward are encouraged to vote in this month’s by-election as they begin receiving their papers in the mail from Tuesday 8 July.

There are 11 candidates standing for election to take the vacant position as Otara councillor.

Electoral officer John Skelton assures Otara residents and non-resident ratepayers who have not enrolled to vote that it is not too late. The electoral roll closes for participation in this by-election on 29 July at close of business.

The by-election closes on 30 July at 12 noon.

Any electors who have not enrolled to vote yet will have to apply for a special vote. To enquire about special voting or about the by-election, contact the council’s Call Centre on 262 5104.
