The Gibbston Harvest Festival committee would like to invite applications from local charities or clubs to be the recipient for funds raised during the Gibbston Harvest Festival, 2009, committee spokesman Timbo Morrison-Deaker said.

The festival, which is held at a different winery at Gibbston each year, will take place at the ‘The Wine House and Kitchen’ in March next year.

“The festival has gone from strength to strength and it’s really rewarding for everyone involved that we are able to pass on some of that success to charity each year,” Mr Morrison-Deaker said.

Previous recipients of the charity have been: Wakatipu Youth Soccer in 2006; The Bruce Grant Trust in 2007; and The Gibbston Trails Trust in 2008.

The ability for the applicant to guarantee a minimum of 30 volunteers at the event is a prerequisite in applying.

Applications, together with a brief background of the charity, should be emailed to timbo@highplains.co.nz

Entries close on August 30, 2008.
