The Oamaru Opera House will advertise for staff this weekend to enable a full compliment of services to be offered to community and corporate clients when the venue opens in February 2009.

All three positions are within budget and the staffing levels remain consistent with the 2007 feasibility study for the project.

Opera House Director Mr. Richard McWha said “I am delighted to be able to open a venue that will have the ability to meet community and commercial needs through the combination of paid staff and a strong volunteer network.”

A technical manager will provide a custodial role of the Opera House’s technology, as well as set up and manage the day to day technical requirements of clients. The technical manager will also be involved with training local community groups to use the venue technology efficiently and safely.

A sales and marketing officer will help market the venue at a national and Australasian level, increasing commercial sales, and an administrator will assist in the day to day administration tasks and in ensuring the volunteer network delivers best possible service and enjoyment levels.
