'Our Neighbourhood, Our Future' Expo - get along this Thursday Friday or Saturday

Tomorrow (Thursday 14 August) the Council and Community Expo ‘Our Neighbourhood, Our Future’ kicks off at the Great Lake Centre (GLC) and entry is FREE.

Over 40 exhibitors were busy down at the GLC today getting ready for the Expo which is being held on Thursday, Friday and Saturday (14 – 16 August), 10am – 4pm daily.

There will be something for everyone at the ‘Our Neighbourhood, Our Future’ Expo including a youth area, a community art exhibition, entertainment, competitions and prizes up for grabs and lots to learn about our neighbourhoods and the future of the Taupo District.

As a lead up to the District’s ten year plan ‘Towards 2019’, the EXPO is an opportunity for Council to speak to as many people as possible to collect people’s ideas, dreams and aspirations for the future of the Taupo District.

“We want to captivate and motivate Taupo District residents to get involved with shaping the future of this District,” said Mayor Rick.

The exhibitors representing a wide range of sectors within the community and demonstrate some of Council’s key partnerships.

“It has been a hectic month leading up to Expo, but everything has fallen into place and I’m sure it will be a great event for those who come along,” said Expo Coordinator Kylie Cotter.
