Long time Tararua District Council chief executive RogerTwentyman has announced his resignation and will finish with the council at the end of October.

Mr Twentyman was appointed in 1995 serving under former Tararua mayor Bill Bly and during the last three terms with present incumbent Maureen Reynolds.

Under the terms of the Local Government Act 2002 the position of chief executive had been advertised and Mr Twentyman had re-applied for his position.

Mr Twentyman declined to comment on why he was not now pursuing his contract except to say that it was “with regret.”

“I have greatly enjoyed my time with the council. It is a great organisation with wonderful people and I am proud of what council has achieved,” he said.
