Residents will have a chance to let Council know how well it meets their expectations. A random sample of Kaipara people from each area are to be interviewed by telephone in a survey being conducted for the Kaipara District Council by the National Research Bureau.

The survey will commence on Friday 22 August 2008 and is expected to be completed on Sunday 31 august 2008. People will be asked about a range of Council services including roading, public facilities, information centres, community halls and the Council’s response to queries.

“Council has a responsibility to seek public opinion and the best way to do this is to have an impartial and independent organisation interview a cross-section of people” Stakeholder Engagement Manager Claire Lichtwark-McInnes told our reporter.

“We have conducted surveys for the past seven years and each year the feedback has been positive, Kaipara can take pride in how it ranks against other similar authorities. The survey also helps us to pinpoint opportunities for improvement.”

If you are phoned and have any concerns regarding the survey please contact Claire.

The results of the survey will be presented to Council at its October meeting. At that time copies will also be in libraries across the District, on the website and anyone who would like a copy can telephone us and we will post one out to them.
