Ordinary people who do extraordinary things
Nominations for the Far North District Council’s 2008 Citizens Awards open next week (01 September 2008).
So if you know someone who has demonstrated outstanding courage or bravery, who has shown exceptional kindness toward others, or someone who has quietly given service to their communities, please let the council know.
The awards are an opportunity to celebrate the work that goes on behind the scenes, work that keeps communities healthy and contributes to the well being of our citizens.
The council is looking for nominations for those who selflessly work behind the scenes, without expecting financial reward or recognition, in the interests of their neighbours, communities and the well-being of the Far North –those who make the district a better place in which to live and work.
The Citizens Awards are a way to acknowledge their efforts and thank them for the selfless service to their communities.
The council will make up to a maximum of 10 awards this year. Nominations close on Friday 07 November 2008 and nomination forms are available from council service centres, libraries and via the website www.fndc.govt.nz or by calling 0800 920 029.
