Public Forum a success

A small and friendly group gathered at the Great Lake Centre on Wednesday night for the first T/K-M/P Committee Public Forum.

Chairman of the T/K-M/P Committee (responsible for the District’s northern rating area) Kathryn Uvhagen said it was an informal and effective session and some interesting discussions were had. “The Forum was really useful for the Councillors that attended to get a feel for concerns and priorities of some members of our Community. Thank you to those who took the time out of their week to attend.”

Some of the items that were covered at the forum included the latest LTCCP summary questionnaire, the Commercial and Industrial Structure Plan that Council are working on, ideas for a new sculpture on Tongariro Street, Council’s investments and loans and more.

The Committee will discuss the feasibility of holding another forum at their next meeting.
