BLACKCAPS bowler Chris Martin will miss next month’s ODI series in Bangladesh through a persistent injury picked up during the English summer.

“Chris developed a hamstring injury during his time at Warwickshire,” said BLACKCAPS general manager Lindsay Crocker.

“While he was able to fully contribute to their most recent four-day match, we have come to the conclusion his longer term interests are best served by him cutting short his obligations at Warwickshire, returning home for full treatment and rehabilitation before hopefully being able to head to Bangladesh to take full part in the Test series.”

Michael Mason will take Martin's place in the BLACKCAPS for the ODI series. Mason is currently on tour with Solid Energy New Zealand A in India and will join the team directly from there.
