There are still places left for the regional ‘On2it’ Working Together Youth Forum being held on Wednesday 8 October at the Great Lake Centre, from 8.45am – 5.00pm.

The full day forum is available for anyone who has an interest in youth development or works with youth and their families. Experienced and respected presenters including Judge Andrew Becroft, Manu Caddie, Carl Crafer, Dr Donna Smith, Dave Marshall and Kaye McLaren will be providing workshops on young people and providing new ideas and ways to deal with youth offending.

Council’s Community Projects Officer, Jenny Steadman said, “This Forum will provide attendees the opportunity to attend six workshops in one day with experts from the youth justice industry. A number of people from around the North Island have already booked in, but there are still positions available.”

The Forum costs $10 per person or $100 per organisation (for 10 or more). To reserve your place contact Jenny Steadman on jsteadman@taupo.govt.nz  or phone 07 376 0899 before 6 October 2008. Refreshments will be provided throughout the day for attendees.

If attendee’s can’t make the full day session then there is an evening presentation with Judge Andrew Becroft at the Great Lake Centre from 7.00 – 8.30pm. Entry is free.

This ‘On2it’ Working Together Forum has been organised by Taupo District Council’s Community Support Team and the Taupo Youth Offending Team made up of members from the Taupo Police, Child Youth & Family, Ministry of Social Development, Education and Health.
