The National Selectors today have opted to take an extended Silver Ferns squad to compete in the Holden Netball Test Series against Australia next week.

The Silver Ferns squad to play in the Holden Series in Melbourne and Brisbane is:

Liana Barrett-Chase, Maree Bowden Katrina Grant, Paula Griffin, Joline Henry, Laura Langman (vice-captain), Sheryl Scanlan, Julie Seymour (captain), Wendy Telfer, Maria Tutaia, Irene van Dyk, Casey Williams (vice-captain), Daneka Wipiiti.

Captain Julie Seymour has been included in the squad named for the series, but has been ruled out of the first test with an Achilles injury. Seymour will be reassessed next week with the view to joining the team in Brisbane to prepare for the second test.

Leana de Bruin was unavailable for selection in the Team to play Australia due to personal reasons.

Silver Ferns coach, Ruth Aitken has opted to provide additional cover across the midcourt roles with the selection of new cap, Wendy Telfer.

Silver Fern squad members Anna Thompson and Erika Burgess will travel to Brisbane as training partners to assist in the preparation for the 2nd Test against Australia on 2 November.
