Public meetings to discuss Hamilton Urban Growth Strategy

The first of three public information meetings regarding the proposed Hamilton Urban Growth Strategy is to take place tomorrow evening.
The three separate meetings to be held in North, Central and South of Hamilton and are taking place to give the community the opportunity to explore in depth the themes and recommendations outlined in the proposed strategy.
Meeting schedule:

NORTH
Wednesday 29th October
7pm-8.30pm
Elim Centre, Maui St

SOUTH
Thursday 30th October
5.30-7pm
Melville High School, Collins Rd

CENTRAL
Monday 3rd November
5.30-7pm
The Meteor, Cnr Victoria and Bridge sts

The proposed Hamilton Urban Growth Strategy was released last week for consultation. The strategy identifies growth forecasts for the city alongside long term community aspirations. It offers propositions for achieving both in a holistic approach to city planning along with a number of growth themes for the city to consider and comment on.
Consultation closes on 17th November 2008. The Growth Strategy will then be finalised, adopted and used to inform Council’s Long Term Plan 2009-19 and form the basis of a comprehensive review to Hamilton’s District Plan.
