Upgraded floor for events centre stadium

Between Monday 8 December and Sunday 28 December, the Taupo Events Centre stadium will be closed to allow for reglazing of the stadium floor.

The 2000 sqm stadium surface will be reglazed as part of the stadium maintenance programme and will address the uneven surface issues which impact those using the facility.

Events Centre Manager, Julie Waitai said the closure has been planned purposely for this time of year. “We chose to carry out the maintenance now, as in the past it has been a quieter time for the stadium.”

“Thank you to our regulars who have been very accommodating with finishing their competition leagues slightly earlier,” she said.

The climbing wall and stadium activities will be available again from Monday 29 December.
The Fitness Suite, the Afterschool Programme and the Aquatic Programme will continue as usual.
