Back to back centuries from newly recalled BLACKCAP James Franklin have seen him rise to the top of the overall and batting MVP rankings this week.

The State Wellington Firebird scored 160 as his team thrashed the State Northern Knights by an innings and 12 runs last week.

This follows his 219 against Auckland, and has been enough to earn him a recall to the BLACKCAPS side for the upcoming test series against the West Indies.

Although he has only played in one game, another newly recalled BLACKCAP, Mark Gillespie, has also made a significant move this week, moving to third in the average MVP points per game table.

His eight wickets for the Firebirds were crucial in their victory over the Knights.
