Local flavour for New Years Eve bash

Taupo’s annual New Years Eve Concert is on again at Riverside Park and this year’s line up has a local flavour with two of Taupo’s best cover bands performing.

From 8.00pm, Remedy will take the stage, playing two sets to get the night underway and from 10.00pm onwards, Zeero will kick off a range of great covers your guaranteed to know and want to dance to. The countdown brings everyone back on stage to welcome the New Year with an impressive fireworks display.

Food and drink will be available to purchase throughout the night.

To be repeated again, after a successful launch last year is the More FM Summer Series which kicks off on Sunday 4 January. This year, the series will be expanded from 4 weeks to 8 weeks, with a range of entertainment including music and movies that will appeal to both young and old. At that time of year, the sun will be shining so why not bring a picnic and a bottle of wine and relax in the park.

The start time has been moved to 5pm to allow residents to get off the lake, get the picnic sorted and get down to Riverside Park. The liquor ban has been lifted so a glass of wine can be enjoyed. The New Years Eve Concert and the Summer Series are free of charge, designed for families to get out and enjoy what Taupo has to offer.
