Council seeking public feedback
MANAWATU District Council has started its 2009 Communitrak survey of residents as part of its on-going commitment to actively seek public opinion and involvement.
Strategic Planner, Philip Bronn, said council had a responsibility to track how well its efforts were carrying through to the residents and the best way to do this was interview a representative cross-section of people.
He said the National Research Bureau, an independent market research company offering specialised services to local authorities in New Zealand, had been commissioned to undertake the survey and report to the council.
People living in all three wards of the district are to be telephoned, using a randomised selection method, and asked their opinions on a wide ranging list of services and issues pertaining to the council and the services it delivers to the residents.
Interviewing for the latest survey has started and is expected to be completed by the end of June.
