Tickets go on sale next week for the Super 14 match in New Plymouth between the Hurricanes and the Cheetahs.

The 2.30pm match on Saturday 7 March at Yarrow Stadium will see children enter with a free ticket with any adult GA ticket purchase. (Maximum of two children under 14 per adult.)

Ticket sales open at 9.00am this Wednesday (11 February) from www.ticketdirect.co.nz, 0800 4 TICKETS, the TSB Showplace and the information centres in Stratford and Hawera. Service fees will apply to all tickets purchased.

“This match is great start to the rugby season and we’re expecting a full house – especially with the Kids Go Free promotion,” says NPDC Manager Venues Cup Paul Nisbet.

“For that reason, we’re putting on a free shuttle bus service from the central city.

“It’ll be the same service that ran last year for the All Blacks test match at Yarrow Stadium, where we had about 5,000 people – roughly 20 per cent of the crowd – travelling to the game on the shuttle bus.

“Spectators will be able to leave their car in the city and not worry about finding a car park around the stadium.”

Ten buses will run in a continual loop from Ariki St to Yarrow Stadium from 12.30pm until the start of the game, and will return fans from the Tukapa St bus stop next to the Maratahu St intersection from the end of the game until the last person leaves the ground.

Free parking will be provided at the Carrington/Vivian St Car Park (behind The Mill), and also for those who take their cars out of the Downtown and Centre City car parks after 4.00pm.

Parking around Sanders Park will be reserved for buses, and all parking-restricted areas around the ground will be enforced during the game.

“Taranaki people seem to embrace the concept of leaving their cars behind and going to a big event by bus instead, so we expect the shuttle service will be very popular for this event as well,” he says.
