White Ferns in action at ICC Women's World Cup

The White Ferns are just hours away from their 2009 ICC WOMEN'S WORLD CUP opening match against defending World Champions and number one seeds, Australia.

The match is scheduled to start at 10-00am Sydney time at The North Sydney Oval, Sunday March 8th.

White Ferns Captain Haidee Tiffen, said her side is confident about their roles in tomorrow's match and they can't wait for the tournament to get underway.

Tiffen acknowledges some of her team mates will be experiencing one of the biggest sporting opportunites of their careers being at a World Cup.

She said after Friday's World Cup opening ceremony formalities it's back to some quiet time today ahead of tomorrow's fixture.

The weather forecast is a good one for Sydney on Sunday with temperatures in the mid twenties predicted.

SKY SPORT Three will televise the match live from midday New Zealand time.

The White Ferns are in Group A with Australia, West Indies and South Africa.

India, England, Sri Lanka and Pakistan make up Group B..
