New Sport Manawatu CEO announced

The Board of Sport Manawatu is pleased to advise that it has secured the services of Mike Daisley as the new Chief Executive Officer of Sport Manawatu.

Mike brings over 17 years of sport and business management experience spanning four countries to the role of Sport Manawatu CEO. Prior to relocating back from Denmark with his family, Mike worked as a management consultant with a diverse client base across government and private enterprise.

Previously he has held management roles in a Scottish Local Authority and also Scotland's national agency for sport. Before leaving New Zealand he cut his teeth in sport and recreation at Sport Taranaki.

Mike is passionate about being physically active and playing sport. An enthusiastic mountain biker and keen sailor, he also enjoys tramping and camping with his family.

Mike will start with Sport Manawatu on April 20 2009. The board looks forward to Mike continuing Sport Manawatu’s efforts in leading participation in sport and active recreation in the Manawatu, Horowhenua and Tararua regions.
