Top Town finale this Sunday at the AC Baths - FREE ENTRY

Get down to the AC Baths this Sunday (5 April) from 5pm to watch the final of Top Town and to see if the Unison Taupo Lakers can prove that Taupo is the Top Town in New Zealand.

This Sunday the Unison Taupo Lakers will be competing against the Whakatane Yellowfins for the title of Top Town in New Zealand and Mayor Rick Cooper is inviting the community down to the AC Baths to watch the finale with the team.

“Come on down this Sunday – we are having free entry to the pools, a big screen to watch the final, top town obstacles, a Mr T dress up competition, sausage sizzles, giveaways and more!”

“Go the Unison Taupo Lakers – lets prove to New Zealand that Taupo is the Top Town,” said the Mayor.

There will be free entry to the pools from 5.00pm. The Mr T dress up competition will be judged from 5.30pm so make sure you get your chains and cargo pants out and be into win some great prizes. A ‘Top Schools’ competition will get underway at 6.00pm and a Top Town obstacle course will be set up for anyone who is up for the challenge. Splashes Café will be open and a free BBQ is being put on by MoreFM, or bring a picnic down.

At 7.30pm a big screen will show the final between the Unison Taupo Lakers and Whakatane Yellowfins.

“The team wants to acknowledge the community support they have received and win or lose, it’s about getting together, having a bit of fun and celebrating our town,” says Lakers Coach Councillor Mike Downard.
