Residents to have a say
MANAWATU District residents are being encouraged to have their say as the Draft Long Term Council Community Plan 2009/19 is about to be released for public consultation.
Submissions open on Tuesday, April 14, with the public consultation period running until Thursday, May 14.
The Draft LTCCP sets out council’s priorities for the next 10 years and provides information on budgets, rating levels, major projects and general council services. It also outlines council’s contribution to meeting community outcomes.
Community and Strategic Development Officer, Tracey Hunt, encourages all residents, and anyone else with a vested interest, to read the Draft LTCCP or its summary.
“We have involved the community in the development of the draft; now we want feedback on where we have got to and what we are proposing.
“This is not just the council’s plan, this is ‘Our Plan’ for the next 10 years, and none of the projects and services in the draft will be finalised until the community have had an opportunity to consider them and have their say,” said Ms Hunt.
She said copies of the plan summary were to be sent to nearly 12,000 residential addresses in the district as an insert in the April 16 edition of the “Feilding Herald”.
Copies of the plan will be available at the council office, on the website and at the Feilding Public Library.
