Bank support for SMEs could be a lot better

In a Chamber survey taken over 24 hours.

494 businesses responded
394 businesses indicated there was a lack of support for businesses from banks
265 have overdraft facilities secured by property
Of these 265, 202 paying in excess of 10%.

Chamber CEO Michael Barnett suggested that given the security SME’s were providing banks, rates suggested by respondents to the survey were unhelpful in the present challenging economic climate.
