Further Submissions Close For Proposed Pokeno Plan Change
Another public consultation phase on the future of Pokeno has come to an end when the opportunity for further submissions closed last Friday.
Franklin District Council received 16 further submissions as part of the process enabling the public the opportunity to comment on the submissions received when proposed Plan Change Change 24 on Pokeno was publicly notified.
Franklin District Mayor Mark Ball, says, “We have had great public interest in the future plans for Pokeno. Council will now consider the further submissions, and a report will be written that discusses the matters raised through the entire submission process. This report will be distributed to all submitters, and will be available to the general public.”
The next step is to hold a hearing on the proposed plan change. Submitters will have the opportunity to present to the independent Commissioners. All those who made a submission will be advised of the hearing date, likely to occur around September.
Franklin District Council would like to thank the many people and organisations who took part in the submission process.
Copies of the summary of submissions and the original submissions are available at Franklin District Council Service Centres, at the Pokeno Post Shop and at www.franklindistrict.govt.nz.
