On 28 March 2009, New Zealanders were amongst hundreds of millions of people who powered down for WWF’s Earth Hour.

The local events were measured by Colmar Brunton and we now know exactly how many people participated. In the spirit of Earth Hour, the results will be presented at the steps of Parliament tomorrow at 12 noon.

WWF is asking locals to present the results personally by joining others in the Earth Hour human formation spelling out the participation figures.

The Minister for the Environment will also be presented with the Earth Hour collage made - all the words of support and inspiring photos from New Zealand's Earth Hour community.
