Green Party Co-Leader Metiria Turei and Green MP Sue Kedgley will Freeze tomorrow to mark World Environment Day.

The Freeze is scheduled for 1.00 PM Friday 5 June and will see thousands of New Zealanders stop and take a stand against climate change.

Ms Kedgley will take part in the Wellington Freeze and Mrs Turei will join the Freeze in Dunedin.

World Environment Day also sees MP Kennedy Graham serving as a panellist at the Ecoexpo in Christchurch.

Green Party Co-Leader Metiria Turei noted that work to promote environmental conservation and to combat climate change was an ongoing focus for the Party: “Environmental advocacy is a significant part of our daily work. We believe a Green New Deal for New Zealand can tackle the environmental, economic and climate crises at the same time.”

Freeze locations are still to be revealed by event organisers.
