MANAWATU-WHANGANUI

Sport Manawatu is looking for the busiest person in the Manawatu who believes they can’t possibly fit physical activity into their day.

It’s a well-proven fact that being physically active can increase job satisfaction and productivity, while reducing stress. “An easy and effective way of dealing with office stress is to get out of the office and go for a 15 minute brisk walk,” says Rachel Cheer, public relations and participation manager at Sport Manawatu.

Everyone who enters Sport Manawatu’s competition will go in the draw to win a range of great spot prizes including city fitness passes, personal training sessions, and goodie bags. They will also receive regular tips and advice on how to incorporate physical activity into their day. “It’s like having your own personal motivator so there’ll be no excuse for not being active!” explains Miss Cheer.

One lucky winner will be chosen to be the face of “ActiveWorks” – a Sport Manawatu initiative aimed at promoting how busy people can fit physical activity into their day. As the face of ActiveWorks, they will receive a range of great prizes including a buddy who will help keep them motivated, gym membership with cityfitness, a full health check by Massey University’s Exercise and Sport Science staff, as well tips and advice.
So, if your excuse for not being active is that you’re ‘too busy’ then prove it by entering Sport Manawatu’s ActiveWorks competition online at www.sportmanawatu.org.nz (entries close Sunday 26 July).
