An incoming mail bag stolen from Manawatu District Council premises on Tuesday, June 30, is believed to have contained about 40 return envelopes.

Council officials feel these were likely to include completed dog registration forms from customers.
In recognition of the delay that will now be incurred by customers whose dog registrations may have been stolen, an extra 10 days has been added to the deadline to avoid late payment penalties.

Customers who have sent mail to the council on or about June 29 are being asked to ensure that council has receipted it.

This can be done by contacting the council’s Customer Services Centre on (06) 323-0000 and provide relevant details. If there are any other concerns or questions, Customer Services staff can be contacted.

Council is also asking that if anyone has any information regarding the theft, or the large, yellow courier bag, to please contact Feilding police on (06) 323-6363.
