My neighbourhoods events on local reserves postponed

The ‘My Neighbourhoods’ series of events engaging with residents on local Taupo reserves has been postponed until the end of the year.

The series was scheduled to move to the Mere Road Reserve this coming Saturday 25 July having already been to Pihanga Street Reserve and the Blue Reserve at Wairakei. The events which encourage neighbours to meet one another in a fun and educational environment will instead be held at the end of this year.

“The weather has played a big part in this decision being made, but all of the partners involved in the initiative are committed to completing the series” says Council’s Strategic Relationship Manager, Dylan Tahau who is coordinating the series.

The reserves on Mere Road, Richmond Avenue and Kaiuru Street will continue to host the events when the series returns in the latter part of the year.

A number of agencies are involved in the initiative including Taupo District Council, Taupo Plunket Society, Life Education Trust, Neighbourhood Support, Sport Waikato and More FM.
