New trustee for Te Ahu project

Prominent Kaitaia businessman and Vision Far North member, Mike Mitcalfe, has been appointed as a trustee to the Te Ahu Charitable Trust.

Mr Mitcalfe is one of five council appointees to the trust. His appointment follows the recent resignation of local businessman anmd trust foundation member Eric Shackleton.

The Te Ahu Charitable Trust is tasked with the planning and construction of a multi-million-dollar civic complex at Kaitaia which will include a new library, information centre, museum, arts and cultural centre, council Service Centre and ancillary facilities. The new centre will be developed in conjunction with the re-modeling and upgrading of the existing Far North Community Centre complex.
