Bond comeback off to spectacular start

Shane Bond’s return to New Zealand international cricket has got off to a flying start.

Playing in a national side for the first time since 2007, Bond took a wicket with his first ball for the New Zealand A team in India today.

New Zealand A is playing a Combined Districts XI in the second round of the Buchi Babu All-India Invitation Tournament in Chennai.

New Zealand lost the toss and were put into the field. Bond opened the bowling and with his first delivery bowled Thalaivan Sargunam.

After 10 overs Combined Districts were 36 for 2 – Bond taking both wickets, with figures of 2 for 14 off four overs.
