Ordinary people who do extraordinary things
Nominations for the Far North District Council’s 2009 Citizens Awards open on Monday 07 September 2009.
So if you know someone who has demonstrated outstanding courage or bravery, who has shown exceptional kindness toward others, or someone who has quietly given consistent service to their communities, please nominate them for a Citizens Award.
The awards are an opportunity to celebrate the voluntary work which helps keep our communities healthy and contributes to the well being of our citizens.
The council is looking for nominations for those who selflessly work behind the scenes, without expecting financial reward or recognition, in the interests of their neighbours, communities and the well-being of the Far North –those who make the district a better place in which to live and work.
The Citizens Awards are a way to acknowledge their efforts and thank them for their selfless service.
The council will make up to a maximum of 10 awards this year. Nominations close on Friday 06 November 2009. Nomination forms are available from council service centres, libraries and via the website www.fndc.govt.nz or by calling 0800 920 029.
