Sale St features in the HANZ Awards for Excellence finalists 2009

Auckland’s Sale Street Bar has been nominated as a national finalist in two categories of the Hospitality Association of New Zealand’s 2009 Awards for Excellence.

The modern venue has been named a finalist in the categories of ‘Best New / Redeveloped Bar / Restaurant’ and ‘Best Bar’.

Sale St has been open less than a year and proprietor Luke Dallow says it has already gained one Lewisham Award for “Best Ambience and Style Emerging”.

“We like awards because they are the place you are judged by your peers. There are so many entries from all over New Zealand for the HANZ awards and I’m thrilled Sale St’s made the shortlist,” Mr Dallow says.

There are 15 categories to the HANZ awards which are to be presented at a function in Taupo on October 1.

In addition to its spacious bar and restaurant, Sale St features a café, micro-brewery, garden bar as well as a live music stage.
