Council to survey for residents satisfaction
Around 400 Far North householders will be chosen at random and asked to give their views on a wide range of district council services and issues in a telephone survey at the end of this month.
The council has commissioned independent market research company National Research Bureau to carry out the survey in order to get an unbiased appraisal of the way in which it conducts its business.
“We hope people will take the time to respond to the survey so that we get the public feedback we need in order to find out what we’re doing well and what we need to do better,” General Manager Finance and Business Performance Ian Sivyer said.
“We need to know how we’re doing in terms of getting our key messages across and achieving our goals.
“This council is making a real effort to put our customers first, so it stands to reason that we need to know what our customers want and whether we are on the right track in terms of doing what we say we will do.”
The bureau, which offers specialised market research services to councils, intends to survey people from all three wards of the district.
The survey is in keeping with changes in local government whereby councils are expected to take active steps towards better understanding and meeting their residents’ expectations.
