The BLACKCAPS have confirmed 11 players are fit and available for the second Twenty20 International against Pakistan in Dubai tonight (Saturday morning NZ time).

Daniel Vettori and Aaron Redmond will not be available for the match. Kyle Mills also remains injured, while Jacob Oram has returned home for the expected birth of his first child.

Team manager Dave Currie said a scan carried out on Daniel Vettori yesterday showed he was clear of any serious injury. It has been confirmed that he suffered mild concussion, sustained when he was struck on the helmet while batting in the second One-Day International.

He has been advised to rest for a week, but is expected to be available for the first Test against Pakistan in New Zealand, starting on 24 November.

Aaron Redmond, who pulled a lower abdominal muscle while bowling in the first Twenty20 International, will be further assessed on his return to New Zealand. Initial indications are that he is likely to be out of action for a number of weeks, Currie said.

James Franklin has made good progress recovering from a back injury and will play in tonight's match.

Local players will be called in to act as substitute fielders if required, Currie said.
