Sounds of Santa's Sleigh Means it Christmas Cruise time for Koru Care NZ!
Once again excited Koru Care NZ children will be boarding a Fullers Ferry for their annual Christmas Harbour Cruise later this week.
Each December for the last four years Koru Care NZ have been taking children on a harbor cruise in conjunction with Fullers and other sponsors, giving children from various organisations and those who have been on Koru Care NZ trips the chance to meet up again and celebrate the festive season.
Previous cruises have seen Koru Care take up to 250 children and 60 volunteers out for their annual Christmas Cruise. The day normally includes a two hour cruise on a Fullers Ferry around the Auckland harbour, then a party and BBQ at Eastern Beach.
Koru Care tries every year to have a guest of honour on the cruise, with previously cruises having seen Ronald McDonald, former Prime Minister Helen Clark and TV personalities. As Ann Bain of Koru Care NZ says “The kids get a real kick out of meeting these personalities and are often heard talking about the day many months afterward.”
The children on the cruise have also been treated to displays by tug boats, buzzed by the Police helicopter Eagle and the police IRB boats.
Koru Care NZ would like to thank all those who are helping to make this year’s cruise a success.
