New Zealand rider Joanne Kiesanowski has grabbed another top-10 finish at the UCI Tracy Cycling World Cup in Colombia today.
Kiesanowski (Christchurch) was 10th in the final of the 20km points race at the penultimate World Cup in Cali.
This leaves her in a share of 12th place on the World Cup rankings to go with her fourth placing overall in the scratch race with one round remaining in Beijing. The World Cup is the qualifying process for next year’s world championships.
The BikeNZ rider, who picked up points in two of the eight sprints, finished in the main pack in the race dominated by inform Italian Georgia Bronzini who also won the same race in the Melbourne World Cup last month.
Kiesanowski, New Zealand’s best road rider in recent years, will mix riding the road for her US pro team next year with a return to the track where she hopes to secure a place in the Commonwealth Games.
After a decade racing only on the road, the Team TIBCO professional will mix her road contract in the US with the track in an attempt to make the team for the Commonwealth Games next year.
She was the only kiwi competing in Cali with the final round of the World Cup in Beijing next month.
